What veggies are okay in cutting diet

I am curious to know what vegetables are acceptable in a cutting diet. I am not prepping for a show, but i like to stay with a very strict diet. I like to eat lettuce, broccoli etc, but i what about tomatoes, onions, peppers?

I have heard carrots and peas are a bad idea, anything else?

    thanks

I recon it depends on the rest of your diet...
If you don't have any carbs all day then carrots and peas won't matter...

Based on my little bit of experience, any vegetable could be acceptable depending on how it fits into your overall diet, but generally one wants to avoid the starchy (high carb) vegetables.

The main veggies to be avoided when reducing carbohydrates are:

    Beets
Carrots (on some diets, but they aren't as high as others in this group)
    Corn
    Parsnips
    Peas
Plantains (technically a fruit but plantains are used more like a vegetable)
    Potatoes in all forms
Winter Squashes (particularly acorn and butternut)

Lima Beans are great. So is spinach, uncooked green beans, etc.

By the way, carrots can cause an insulun spike. But you need to eat about 6 carrots of medium size or drink carrot juice. Dr. Jonny Bowden wrote something about this.

That is good news. So beans are a go? And tomatoes don't have too much sugar? I don't get many carbs outside of veggies and some PWO glucose, so I'll add more veggies in.

As for me I'd preffer green leafy veggies
But not large amount of carrots or beans would be fine I think.

Watch out for tomatoes. Use lots of leafy green veggies... Kale, Spinach, Brocc, Asparagus, Bell Peppers (all variety of colors... important), Herbs (for flavor, cilantro, etc.), Garlic, Onion, Radish.
