    Oats and stomach ache.. whatup

When I eat oatmeal my stomach gets upset, really annoying as I know it's a good food and i want to eat it 2x - 3x a day.

I mix my Oats with milk (I don't get an upset stomach of milk alone).
I was wondering if it could be the combination? Oats and milk make a kindof sticky combo, which I guess can contribute to the problem.

What you guys think? I really want to be able to eat oats.
Im guessing I am going to try and eat oats in water, and see if that helps..

    I hate oats.

The only way I can get them down is to heat them up and toss them in my shaker with my whey. Gives them a good flavor. And goes down quick.

    I only make with water

I actully love Oatmeal but I do not use milk with it... Try just using hot water and puting a small amount of Brown Sugar on it! This is what I do and i have 1.5 cups 2X a day and I actually like it!

Have you heard of celiac disease? I know some celiacs who are very sensitive to Oats, as they contain proteins called avenins which have a structural homology to the gliadins found in wheat.

    My sister have celiac disease.
Their body can't handle gluten (wheat.. and the like), oatmeal aswell..
My body handles wheat just fine (ask my 150g servering of pasta before working out, which is 100g carbs and wheat all the way through..) So I reccon I dont have that :P

Also got tested for it.. because of family have it.. went fine

Try the quick oats compared to whole oats.

Same thing just ground more .

The pain could be gas build up .
