Is there a best way to eat?

I know a lot of people will think "you're over thinking it" which I know I am.

I can't help to wonder if there's a best way to eat your meals, like which order you eat pro/carbs/fats/veg ect, the speed in which you take in your meal ect. Anyone know about that?

don't inhale your food. I tend to eat fast...constantly have to slow down.

read 3rd post down from the top labled important in red "so you want to learn how to diet" watch the videos and you will learn everything you'd like to know, he is a genious and im sure no one on this site can denie this.

other than that there is a basic rule, if you chew up your food throughly your digestive system wont have to work as hard to break it down (which burns calories) SO.... chew througly if on a bulking diet

if you dont chew throughly you dont get the same nutrients..

if your following your diet based upon your bmt/tdee accordingly then you dont need to worry about whether your bulking or not.. chew your food throughly..

    I don't think it's a stupid thread.

I generally eat my (solid) proteins first.

    Why?

Protein takes longer to break down.

It requires more mastication, and longer exposure to gastric juices.

I follow it with fibrous carbs... then starchy carbs and fats in no particular order.

If my protein component of a meal is liquid, I have it last.

Consuming carbs + fat prior to the liquid protein has a buffer effect, as they slow gastric emptying.

nark, u dont feel like we're splitting hairs here??

i mean there's so much to dieting already, just getting the right foods down in the first place is hard enough for most.. now we have an order to eat them in??

i wouldnt' doubt your knowledge on the matter though nark..

Not intended to start an argument... just to foster a discussion.

I eat in the order that I eat to facilitate a smooth digestive process.

Our lifestyle isn't particularly healthy, where the over-eating component is concerned... so, I (and others) have had digestion problems as a result.

Eating in the way that I currently do cuts down on these issues.

    That's all.

    To each his own.

    Yeah I see,

I was thinking take in the fibrous carbs first then the pro, then the other carb/fats but it looks like you already know the answer to what I was thinking about.

Yeah, my gut messes with me sometimes, so i'm always looking for a better way to healthily maintain it.

Hell I might even try eating my carbs first, then pro, then fiber carbs for a week and then switch it for a week just to see if it truly makes a difference, i'm willing to bet it does.

That would actually be even better for gut health IMO.

I've tried it before, but it really didn't help me with my protein issues.
