Confused with carb cycling, low calorie, and cheating
Whatsup all.
I'm an experienced weight lifter. I've had personal trainers and everything and my body's not bad....but I want to get cut.
I have always been conflicting info on diet, however.
SO
1) Right now I am counting my calories dilligently.
MY TDEE is 3957
I workout Mon - Thursday 4x week (weights 1hr+45 mins cardio at around 70-75% MHR), Friday =1 cardio day, Saturday = one HIIT sprinting 20mins day
Sunday = off to cheat, sometimes I will make my cheat on Saturday. It depends on whether I feel like eating out.
Some days I take in 1500 cals, some 2000 cals, some 2500cals.
I do this because I think I am tricking my metabolism. Please read everything else before replying.
By not having the same EXACT FOODS I think I am doing the right thing.
I automatically cycle carbs obviously because the food choices are different.
2) HOwever, even though **I count cals perfectly,** my sources are not set in stone, in other words, I eat what I want, as long as it is measureable to the gram.
But everything is measured to a T (perfectly)
3) I do once a week cheat day...and that I do to prevent starvation mode even more, and I try to make it more than my TDEE (3797 cals is a lot when you think about it).
I am 5'6
240lbs
24yrs old
I want to be be 210lbs
No idea of bf%, but I wear 36 inch pants....maybe that can help
*** PLEASE NOTE***
I don"t know if it is because I still have a lot to lose, but no matter how low I go (I've even done nutrisystem) I NEVER LOSE MUSCLE MASS>
In fact, I gain mass very easily.
I am very energetic, and very muscular (not to brag just setting the stage here). If anything, I will gain muscle.
Been training since I was 15.
If I could get this clarified that would be great.
I am in week 2 of this, lost 8lbs so far and I am seeing results.
I have dieted similar to this before, via a plethora of diets. My Dad also diets this way , he never loses muscle.
If ppl can give me input on this, their views, and possibilities of this plz reply.
I can keep a log if you guys want.

Also, I don't understand how to cheat.
PPL say refeed to release the Leptin and do refined carbs (I saw this on other forums) or just eat what you want but don't over do it. I read J3 says eat 500cals above maintenance.
If I am putting myself in survival mode, wouldn't it take longer than 7 days to get in said mode? Would this cheat meal take me out of it?
I heard that you should cheat more often the leaner you get. SO i guess I am stuck with every week
I know it's a lot of questions, let's go a step at a time

what are the protein/carbs/fats of each item your eating? that's way more important than the calories....

i say you trash the whole idea... if you do put muscle mass on very easily then why waste the genetics on a shitty diet??
start fresh.. drop everything your doing..

sorry i just dont know what your trying get at..
you say you eat everything and whatever but just stay inside your calorie intake and you gain heaps of muscle.
if thats the case whats the problem?\
even though i dont agree with the idea, but if its working for you and you say it is.
plus your diet does need serious work.

how the hell does 58 grams of roast beef equal 94 calories?

I would have to agree w/the guys above. I've done some crazy ass diet's before.. This just sounds a little off to me.
So are you saying your primarily all muscle since you gain it so easily? being 5'6 @ 240lbs you would either be really built and sizable or you may have a lot to lose.
I think something more consistent would be in order.

Type in 58g and you will see the response, from calorie king.
It's not 58g of protein, it is the weight of the meat.
94cals and 17g protein big guy

mate im not trying bash here, but you do have a lot to lose and you said you can eat anything and put on muscle sorry to say that is not the fact now seen the photo.
but you are here to get some help im assuming, even though your first post doesnt suggest that.
get up a diet with six meals or seven meals up and we will tweak it for you, make sure you put down the breakdown of your macros.
