Well it's time to finally take the next step and correct my sub-par diet. To start I want to get my macro amounts correct before jumping into making a diet.
The below is taken from my diet spreadsheet, hopefully the formatting is not to rough. I have watched the Milos videos, read a ton on here, and a couple books (really like Power eating by Susan Kleiner). I may have serious miscalculations below so please any feedback is appreciated. Also, I probably mis-use the word cutting, I just want to drop my body fat while continuing to build lean mass.
DIET CALCULATIONS
Weight 208 lbs
Body Fat 16.6 % (Taken from 9-point Caliper Test -Thanks Fireguy for posting how to do it)
Fat Weight 34.5 lbs
Lean Weight 173.5 lbs
Height = 70 in
Age = 33 y/o
BMR (Method 1)
BMR (base) = 66 + (6.23 x weight) +(12.7 X height) - (6.8xage)
BMR (base) = 1811.331
BMR = BMR (base) * Activity Factor (used 1.55 for moderate)
BMR = 2807.562
BMR (Method 2)
Average Activity Daily = 500 Cal
BMR = Lean Weight * 13 + Activity
BMR = 2755.136
**Go with lower number less 250 calories for cutting.
Therefore BMR (Cutting) = 2505.136
Macronutrient Breakdowns
Protein
2 g/lb (Lean Weight)
Protein need = 346.9 g/day
Caloric Burden = Grams of Protein x 4
Caloric Burden = 1387.8 calories
Carbohydrate
0.5 g/lb (Lean Weight) (I am not sure about this)
Carb need = 86.7 g/day
Caloric Burden = Grams of carbs x 4
Caloric Burden = 346.9 calories
Fat
Back calculate from total calories less Protein and Carb calories
Fat caloires = 770.4
Fat = 9 calories/g
Fat need = 85.6 g/day
Once I get hese macros right I will post a sample diet for comment.
Thanks for the help!
