    Any benefit to this?

This is probably a noob question, but is there any benefit to a low dose of test cyp with an anti-estrogenic to help weight loss? In trying to lose weight, I've been going about it the wrong way, cutting back on calories and doing cardio 5x week unti I hit a wall and stopped losing. The trainer I hooked up with is telling me to bump up calories to just under my daily maintenance intake (2900kcal) and use strength training to increase mass to raise BMR & burn fat. We're going to review my diet and come up with a 4 day W/O plan.

To complicate things a bit, my T levels are on the low side so I'm using Androgel which raises me up to the lowest end of the normal range. I'm 41, 6' 240lb with a BF of 26%. I want to get down to 210lb and get my BF down to a healthier range. Am I wrong in assuming a higher T level will metabolize fat quicker than a lower T level?

The extra bit off test from the gel will not in itself burn fat. It may help add some muscle which in turn will raise your BMR. In this case raising your test levels should help you hold your LBM while on a calorie restricted diet. My guess is you do not need the anti-estrogen if you are only using a patch. Many people can run 500mgs a week without the need of any type of estrogen control. Even the strongest patch is going to be way below that level.

That said, diet and cardio are going to be what makes this a success or failure not the patch.

I didn't think I'd need anything else to go with the Androgel , as it's only 5mg IIRC. I was thinking if there was a compelling reason to use low-dose test to help fat loss, an anti-estrogenic would handle any water gain that came as a result. Thanks for the input.

I think that in your situation it's too early to think about steroids .
Post your current diet with macros, stats and tdee.
