Like beef, lamb is a slower digesting protein. If I recall my culinary textbook correctly, the same tenderloin cut has slightly less pro per 6 oz. than beef. Personally, I find Lamb chops w/ garlic and rosemary to be the tastiest of all grilled meats but I've always excluded them from my diets based on cutting goals. Sorry, can't say I know why it would be considered better for bulking other than obviously high fat content in most common cuts.

You should bop your mate in the face and say lol wut.

Lamb is good, very tasty, high protein content, low fat depending on the cut.

you're mate is probably over rating the whole "red meat" is good for testosterone thing.

It is a slower digesting protein compared to the usual chicken because it's going to take longer to break down.

I eat duck, lamb, goat, rabbit, mutton, beef, shrimp, mussels, chicken, turkey, fish and a host of meats available locally (in Barbados).

I really wouldn't say that lamb is 'the best for bulking'.

I think people confuse 'bulking' with getting fat.

That appears to be the most common misconception.

That, coupled with the desire to consume as many calories as possible while trying to 'bulk'.

Lamb, I'd say... is fatty. Some cuts have a 1:1 ratio of protein to fat. (other cuts are leaner)

The kcal count is probably why some would suggest it's 'best for bulking'.

    I make no distinction.

What's best is consuming enough quality calories and an appropriate ratio of macros.

I wouldn't depend on any one meat to achieve that goal.

Personally, I think lamb is better suited towards keto dieting.

That really doesn't matter... particularly where this discussion is concerned.

But, it's noteworthy where using lamb for keto dieting is concerned.

Fat and proteins both positively affect satiety.

    Fat slows gastric emptying.

So hunger pangs (etc.) are markedly reduced.
