WTF tilapia is cheap!!
I was in the frozen fish section of the grocery store and noticed that they had a HUDGE amount of tilapia. I was shocked to see that it was 10 4oz fillets for 10$. One 4oz fillet has 98 calories and 20g protein. Thats 2 bucks for a dinner. IDK if everyone knew this already but Tilapia is def gonna make it onto my plate more often. Untill now I was strictly a salmon guy.

Not only is it cheap but a very good lean protein source. Better yet, it's easy to prepare. I buy a ton every week, spread the fillets out on a sheet pan with salt and pepper and broil them for a couple minutes. I'm starting to get sick of it though - gonna make the costly jump back to salmon and Ahi here soon, lol.

It's cheap and always available, for now that is...... I grill it up at least a couple of times a week.

Right now I buy Alaska wild caught salmon which is about 9 dollars for a 6oz fillet and I eat one fillet a day so that gets costly. I try and eat Organic but its just so costly Im def gonna sneak in tilapia a few times a week.

Averages about $5 a pound in all of the grocery stores around me. Even Costco seems expensive as far as Tilapia is concerned.

Just relaize this...tilapia is a fresh water fish for one. It is for the most part farm raised. These farms have over 5 million tilapia per farm, supply will never run out and will always be cheap.
My opion best way to cook it, is on the foreman grill with "ms dash lemon pepper" seasoning. Cooks in 2 minutes, favor is great.
Have to be careful some tilpia have a dirt flavor to it, so i always suggest adding something to it.

to save money you can buy Bear and Wolf canned salmon from Costco, the taste is not bad at all, it beats tuna, and you can eat right out of the can...
