Field and dieting
Im in the military. I enjoy my CKD low to no carb dieting with complex loading for 18 hrs over the weekend. I also am doing HIT workout plans right now which seem to be doing great.
I go to the field a lot, and during that time, there really isnt much time for exercise or following my diet. The meals are mostly MREs (meals ready to eat) which are high in fat/carbs and low to moderate in proteins. How badly will going to the field screw up a diet plan? Im wondering if its even worth dieting hard when I go to the field every so often and screw it up. Someone else in the military must know the feeling.

Hey bro, I go to the field one or two weeks a month. I too follow a low carb, high protein type diet. I agree there is no time to PT out there. Basically what I do is.....
bring a box or two of atkins protein bars, they are like 250 cals, 20g protein and like 20g of carb, with only 1g of sugar.
I snack on those once or twice a day. As far as MREs go, I always grab ones that have to do with chicken (ie. chicken breast, chicken fajita, chicken pesto, etc.)
Another tip, don't eat the snacks and wheat bread, trade ur skittles, m&ms etc. for main chicken meals or smokes or whatever. This is basically how I keep the carbs low while I am still eating enough to give me energy out there. What branch are you in?
