Look online (or buy a Sunday paper) for coupons for items that you need or check out the website of the store at which you buy groceries (Publix, for example, has different buy one, get one free items every week and different items on sale). Stock up on things like chicken breasts and frozen vegetables for lunch or dinner and find out what breakfast items that you can incorporate into your diet are on sale.

Rice, beans, lentils, eggs, oats, and canned tuna are all pretty inexpensive. You could also buy frozen chicken in bulk.

Check all your stores in the area and get their weekly sales papers. If you can handle the same old stuff day after day you can eat very healthy very cheap. Although I do live in a cheaper cost of living part of the US here is what I got the other day to stock up for a while.

    40lbs of boneless breasts $.98/lb= $39.20
15lb bag of brown rice ~$7
    6lbs of Brocolli ~$7
    10lbs of Sirloin steak ~ $2.87/lb= $28.70
    5.5 dozen of eggs ~$6
6 quarts of whites for ~$8

Total of $95.20 for enough food to last close to 2 months. I do buy other things here and there but this is something one could live on pretty well for about $50/month it just takes discipline and taking the time to shop around.

Forgot to add the 2 jugs of oats for $4.75

That's a really cheap and plain diet. Where did you buy all this from? Specially the 40lbs of chicken and steak.

Most of it comes from Costco but the chicken does come straight from the processing plant since I have inside connections to get it under wholesale. I use most of this stuff as a base and add stuff in here and there. But things can be done economically.

Duno how this lasts you 2 months, is that rite?

I eat 14 Lbs chicken, 3.5 Lbs Steak, 70 Eggs, 7 cans Tuna, 3.5 - 7lb rice a week and im cutting at the moment.

Over 2 months thats 112 Lbs chicken, 28 Lbs Steak, 560 Eggs, 56 cans Tuna, 28 - 56 lbs rice

my food bill for 2 months would be £400, $800
