Thread: Nutritional Needs.

    Nutritional Needs.

When figuring out how much protein you should consume do you base it on your current weight or your goal weight? For example, I'm 195 but I want to cut down to 175. I know I need 1g/lb of protein so should I go with 175g or 195g?

Typically you want to go with 1g/lb of LEAN bodyweight; so if you're 195, you need a decent estimate of what your BF% is so you can figure out your lean weight.

Once that part is corrected, it would be 1g/lb of lean CURRENT bodyweight (which if you're cutting won't change very much if at all, so you won't have to worry about adjusting protein).
