Need help losing weight for MMA

Well, I did a cycle several months back and went from 175lbs. to 203lbs. All was well and good as I wanted to put on a lot of muscle. I'm 33 years old and 5'8" tall about 12% B.F. Anyways, I'm back training in MMA and need to lose weight because of my height before I do some grappling tornaments and have an MMA fight next year. I need to get down to about 175-180 and I'm currently at 189lbs. I was able to drop the 14lbs. pretty easily but now I'm at a sticking point.

I've done Clen and had a little luck with that but the last time using I didn't have any effects. I think my body has adjusted to it? I have a high tolerance to stimulants so I'm not sure if that's part of it?

Anyways, I've cut way back on my diet but because of the high cardio and endurance needed for grappling and Muay Thai I need my carbs. I tried cuttinb back on carbs and started getting major cramping because of it. So, is it all up to my diet to drop another 10lbs?

Should I just restrict my carbs and drink more water to help prevent the cramping?

    Thanks,
    Pete

Would it be a bad idea to stop taking a Casein shake before bed?

Post up your diet macros included. Also what weight class are you shooting for. The majority of athletes in combat sports just drop the water weight a day or two before the event, you can easily suck 10 pounds of water out. Are the weigh ins that day or the day before? Do you have experiance in cutting weight? Have you ever used a rubber suit? Water cream? Salt intake?

If you need any advice on cutting weight which is far different from dieting shoot me a pm.

the casein shake before bed wont be doing any harm if anything it should help with recovery and stopping muscle wastage. Seems as though you have 2 ways to drop the weight either through diet or cutting weight through some of the methods MN fighter suggested.

If your fight is next year then you have plenty of time to cut weight through diet. I wouldnt cut carbs back to far or restrict them too much you will burn a heap of calories through training anyway. You could try rotating your carb intake- High, medium, low/no it will provide a nice little kick to your metabolism. theres also a great clen FAQ sheet on here somewhere so check it out if you want to run it again

Thanks for the advice. I'm currently at 189lbs. and want to get down below 180lbs. so I can compete at 170lbs. I'm sure I can clean my diet up a bit and drop the extra weight. I just don't want to sacrafice my training. I want to do some grappling events within the next 3 months so I would like to drop the 10lbs. by then.

Thats definantly achievable within that time frame and im sure as you get closer and closer to the date of your grappling event the intensity of training alone will help you burn the extra calories in combination with a clean diet. Perhaps post your current diet up with complete macro's, individual meal breakdown and an outline of your traning schedual for people to criteque
