    Cheat meal....guidelines?

Is there a general rule to follow for a cheat meal?

Do you have to limit yourself in any way?

What do you guys eat when you cheat?

If you eat clean all week and do cardio - I see no reason to "limit" your cheat meal.

Sure, eating a whole cheesecake might be a bad idea because it's such an empty calorie food but within the realm of protein/fat/carb/veggie with a reasonable portion of dessert - eat what you want. For example, if you went to a chain restaurant and had a fried shrimp appetizer, a large portion of pasta with cream sauce, chicken, and broccoli, and a piece of cake for dessert you'd be fine. Is it a healthy meal? No. Would it cause some bloating? Yes. If you ate it three times over the course of a day, would you gain back some fat? Of course. But let's be realistic, one meal won't put anything back on quickly.

What does your typical cheat day look like?

    Are you cutting or bulking?

Do you find that it affects your gains much?

I am cutting & for my cheat day I am not going to lie I eat what ever I want.
Example....Pizza cake cookies Italian bread...what ever I am in the mood for.If I dont I will go crazy after alll wk of egg whites -grilled chicken -oats-veggies.As for affecting my progress I do feel bloated the next day but I make sure I am back right to my clean diet for the rest of the wk!!!!!!!

I don't have either really. If I'm on a date, I may have a glass of wine and a shrimp cocktail or something but I still order a steak and veggies as my entree.

I find that when I do decide to eat normally (family outings and holidays) it ends very badly. I am simply unable to control myself after the first cookie or whatever and it results in a 10,000 calorie day and many subsequent days of feeling bloated.

A cheat day is only a step back day. If your going to cheat make it a meal not a day. If you want more make it a couple meals spread throughout the week so your body can burn it all off before it turns to fat and bloat. Eat it before a cardio or training session. A cheat day can add lbs ( depending how much you pig out) and take days to work back off. A meal here and there can be burned off that day.

I have a cheat day, and the occasional binge meal. Buts it never sceduled, if i feel i can stick out a diet for a couple more weeks without wanting junk ile do it.

i think the extra calories help your body recover better.

if your craving something, have it.

Luckily, I've never been a big eater....if I don't watch what I eat, i'll under eat. When I cheat, it's more of what I eat rather than how much.

A typical cheat for me would be a bj's california burger...love those haha

Just had my cheat for this week

a whole tub of spicy chicken wings from costco ( about 25 ) and 250 ml of ice cream.

I like to have a cheat on my day off ( i train mon tue thu fri ) so having a cheat meal on the wed really helps me out i feel. Workouts feel better and generally dont feel as down about having 2 eat shit all the time lol

I'm getting to a point where even looking at or smelling chicken is making me nauseous...might have to stock up on turkey and lean ground beef.

I have to switch to skinless bonesless dark meat chicken, tends to help me get the cals in insted of just eating white meat breast all day.

And if you have a strict diet eat whatever you want for your cheat it will keep you sane haha

I have to have a cheat meal or I go crazy..usually on my day off I go to dairy queen and get a large Oreo blizzard with side order fries does the trick. Doesn't effect my gains at all..usually don't make it a cheat day just a meal

I think just a normal meal would be ok once or twice a week.

Not fast food however, that shit will make you go back stay away from it.

I think subway is a really tasty and protein filled cheat meal thats what I usally do !
