    Cocoa Roast Almonds

Guys are these legit? Here are the nutritional facts:
    serving size 1oz. (28g)
    cals 150
    total fat 13g (0 trans, 1g sat)
total carb 6g (3g dietary fiber, 1g sugar)
    protein 6g
Ingredients: dry roasted almonds, modified food starch (potato), natural and artificial flavors, cocoa powder, salt, acesulfame potassium, sucralose

These taste awesome and only have 1g of sugar but I am worried about the "modified food starch (potato)". I usually consume these when I'm having a protein/fat meal in hopes of keeping blood sugar levels low...would the modified food starch (potato) have an insulin effect on my blood sugar?

    I'm hoping this is sarcasm.

They are crap - you know what ingredients should be in a container of almonds? ALMONDS!!! Nothing else. Having said that, they are of course better than potato chips or that level of junk food, but i'm assuming that kind of stuff isn't even in your cabinet.

Stick with plain nuts, raw almonds are best.

Relatively speaking, they're crap. If you want to eat almonds, eat almonds, IMO. Modified (modified HOW? Do you really want to be eating this?) potato starch, chemicals, etc.

It depends on how clean you want to eat. Granted they're a much better option than doritos or something like that, but IMO go for raw almonds - keep it as natural as possible. Just my .02

I asked one of my body builder friends that knows a great deal about nutrition and he didn't have a problem w/ them. Granted reg. almonds would be slightly better than these but I believe the difference in very minimal!

Would I eat them offseason? Sporadically.

Would I eat 'em during contest prep?

    Nope.

LoL Nark! You guys got me started on this stuff now too - the salt and vinegar almonds are the $hit! Unbelivable amount of sodium too, but damn do they taste good!
