    low carb diet

    Question for the diet experts...

    I have been on a low carb diet(bout 140 a day)..running 500 cal below TDEE

    I have been losing about 1-1.5 lb a week..

    If i raise the calories to 500 over maintenance TDEE, could i build muscle while on a low carb diet?

    How do you plan on raising the calories? What is your proposed macro split?

    protein-45%
    Carb 22%
    Fat-23%

    Want to keep the macro's the same..just raise the calories(more portein, fat mostly)

    45+22+23 = 90..........

    well whats ur tdee and lbm? also actual grams of pro/carb/fat..since we wouldnt want to overdo the protein over 2g/lb of lbm

    eating about 2700 calories now

    300g-protein
    140-carbs
    74g-fat

    this is give or take,varies a little bit daily

    I think you can definitely add muscle on a low carb diet - 140g isn't THAT low anyway. It might take you a bit longer than somebody eating twice as many grams of carbs, but that doesn't mean you won't get there.

    I did a low carb diet for 90 days on a cycle and got solid muscle gains and definition. When i say low carb i mean real low, around 15g a day. I also ran about 17miles a week. I went from 195 down to 180. I think being on the right AAS is a huge factor though.

    if u wanted to go above by 500 cals then u could do a 25g increase in fat and a 70g increase in protein..if u wanted to keep the carbs where they are...

    Young, if I go above 500 could I build muscle while cutting fat?
