Clean Bulk - separation of carbs and fats

I posted this question as part of a larger thread, but nobody addressed it so it's getting it's own post!

I read in the 'hardgainer' sticky that with a clean bulk you want to keep fats and carbs separate. It's obvious why, but i'm wondering how strict this rule is?

For instance, I have 2 whole eggs and 1 cup of oats for breakfast (plus a protein shake), which equates to roughly 50g carbs and 15g fat - is this a problem?

Bump - there HAS to be a definitive answer here! Also, i'm upping my calories by 500 starting tomorrow, as part of that i'm adding another egg in the morning, so we're now looking at roughly 20g fat and 50g carbs consumed in the same meal - am I safe? What is the threshold where it becomes too much?
