    pwo for hit/cardio session ?

Ok so my lifting session is generally 45ish mins of lifting followed by 20 min mild cardio and then immediately have carb/protein pwo shake followed by meal an hour later. My question is I train mma and on days when I do 1.5 hour training with no lifting (jump rope/technique/spar/pads/and usually some crossfit style conditioning(hiit), should I still immediately follow with a protein/carb shake? I do not do any heavy lifting exersizes in these sessions so no muscular hypertrophy so to speak, just wondering if the carbs are still necesarry for recovery for this type of training or should I just do protein or something.

Are you considering the training cardio? Are you looking to drop bodyfat? If the answer to both is yes, I would suggest no carbs after this type of workout. You can definitely do a protein shake, and even some fats if you want, maybe a few whole eggs.

All of my training and eating ultimately is to be able to perform at my highest level, so that is my first priority. I would not want to do a post training meal that was geared for fat loss if it was not optimal for training recovery. however if their s no benifit of carbs after this type of training I may leave them out to optimize fat loss/maintanance. Not sure if that makes since but basically I will do whatever pwo drink is optimal for training recovery and worry about fat loss, etc 2nd.

Ok, with that then I WOULD do carbs after. That will help you replenish glycogen stores.
