    optimal number of protein shakes a day?

    Hi everyone. I'm trying to bulk and one of the easiest ways is via protein shakes. I do the Myoplex vanilla with skim milk, banana, p'butter, which gives me 'bout 750 calories per shake. Ideally i have TWO/day. that okay? i know some people say TOO MANY shakes not a good thing. Thoughts?

    Whey protein is good for PWO, Casein protein before bed. That's about it. You could slam a quick shake (whey + casein would be good) first thing upon waking, just to get some protein in. But it should be in addition to or followed by real food.

    Limit 2 shakes PD. If your pressed on time, that's suitable.

    2 a day. One after workout, the other before bed.

    cool. you also ended up answering another question (what's good calories to ingest prior to bed...since i'm usually hungry right up to second i fall asleep.)

    Dont think of this issue in terms of too many shakes, think of it in terms of too little food. As long as you are getting 4-6 real food meals in a day I would add in as many shakes as needed.

    I agree. I like pounding a shake with oats in the morning. And then Pre, post, and Bed Time. But I eat 6 real meals a day.
