Milk and Squats
Has anyone tried the drinking a gallon of milk a day thing? I tried it for the first month of my cycle and got great results.. partly because of other things too of course.

Does the milk work on Chest day too? I like 1% Chocolate milk at times, but there is just too much sugar in milk for me to drink that quantity, depends on your goals of course.
1 8 oz glass of 2% milk=

I drink Whole Milk like a beast when bulking - Works wonders for me.
Mark Ripptoe suggests is as well for his starting strength program.

Depends on your goals. Can't say milk is good or bad. Just depends. For example when bulking I might use it in my protein shakes to get extra calories. When cutting I try to avoid it except for my morning coffee or unless I am out of cottage cheese so I use it before bed in a shake.

This is a tried and true formula for bulking for most strength athletes (powerlifters/strongmen/oly lifters). Rippetoe also suggested if for young athletes to put on weight. I have my sons doing it (14 and 16). My 14 yr old is a hard gainer at 5'10 155lbs, my 16 yr old was the same way before I started him on this. He started at the same measurements at 14 and now at 16, he's 6'2 215lbs, highly recruited safety/linebacker. But it definitely works if you want the weight minus the cuts.

You have missed the whole point of PpreWO nutrition though, it is to rpelace glycogen lost during exercise... Not for the amino acids.
If you are eating correctly and had a prework out shake then you have sufficient amino acids for the time being.
If not add BCAA's and EAA'S to maltodextrin or glucose as higher protien content will bluntin insulins response.
We want insulin high as cortisol is also high wwhile trianing cortisol is a catabolic hormone that wants to turn amino acids into glucose in the lvier if we do not have enough carbs/glycogen....

Not sure where you're going or quite what the point is.... i'm talking about my post-workout shake, not pre-workout meal.
I personally avoid higher GI carbs as i'm extremely carb sensitive and insulin resistant. I don't feel the little benefit of spiking insulin PWO is worth the potential negatives. I stick with complex carbs throughout the day.

To put it short we want insulin high, protein will bluntin that... We want carbs as to negate the catabolic effects of cortisol that comes about form exercise.
Cortisol mobilised amino acids to glucose to be used as instant energy... We want our amino acids going to other funcitons.
So preworkout - whey or bcaa's eaa's
during work out dextrose/maltodextrin bcaa's eaa's vitamin c
Post workout whey/milk whatever and a meal.

we are talking about the 'Milk and Squatt's' program here also known as the '20 Rep Squatt's' program.
The reason 1 gallon of milk is added to a diet is to simply add over 2000 cals to a basic diet.
This is one way to ensure that you will grow / gain weight
