    Progress!!!

    Stats as of 2-15-10.....
    25 years old
    6 foot 2 inches
    257 lbs 22% bodyfat (56lbs of fat)

    Stats as of 7-1-10
    26 years old
    6 foot 2 inches
    233lbs 14.33% bodyfat (33lbs of fat)

Over the last 5 months I have been very strict on my eating regimen. I maybe had 3 or 4 cheat days throughout the time span. My weight loss was very steady until the month of June. I would lose 3 pounds then lose one pound then gain 5 pounds. Eating remained the same and cardio was pretty consistent over the last month. I weighed myself the same day at the same time every week.

If my math is correct I lost 1 pound of muscle and 23 pounds of body fat in a 5 month span. More than likely this could have been accomplished quicker with more cardio or better timing of cardio but over all I am happy with my results. I still have a long way to go but know now that nutrition is the key to it all.

For the next two or three months I am going to be trying to put on some muscle, and will try to do it as clean as possible. I will be posting a clean bulk diet soon.

The man reason of this post is to share information with everyone but also to thank everyone for their help.

    Progress feels good, doesn't it!
Everyone's different, but when I start from "scratch" I usually try to lose the fat first, then once I hit my target weight, then add lbm. Why? On the atkins, I can lose a half a pound a day, or 15 lbs for the first two months. That is a very quick goal I can attain, and during that time, I'm starting my cardio as well. I find that when I have two differing (and sometimes opposing goals) such as losing fat AND adding LBM, then fat comes off slowly, and LBM doesn't go on as quickly compared to if adding LBM were my only goal. Just a personal preference. Works for me, may not work for others.
