    Mixing milk with water

Is this bad? Anyone ever tried this?

I want to take my morning oatmeal as a shake.. But 1 cup of oatmeal in 1 cup of milk is tooo dense....

So can I take like 1 cup of milk with 1 cup of water?

Try it this way, oatmeal/protein powder and water, no need for milk...
Do not ask me for a source check.

X2, oh and keep a spoon handy, they come in use for sloppy oatmeal, just a spoon will do, you wont need a spade

Seriously? Why would you think anything could be bad mixed with water? Personally I don't do it with my oats, I just use water, cinnamon, splenda/stevia, and a bit (maybe 1tbsp) of fat free half and half.

My PWO shake is another story - I mix 1 cup of water with 1 cup of skim and 2 scoops of whey. Can't stand it with water alone!

So the answer is, no problem. If you can avoid the milk, you're better off without the sugar. I personally can't do it with my PWO shake.

gbrice why cant you stand whey with water? personally, I find whey, oats and water much more tastier than whey, oats and milk haha..

It just comes out really thin and that kind of makes me sick. By going 1/2 skim 1/2 water, it thickens up just enough to where I can tolerate it. It probably has to do with the protein powder i'm using as well though. I know there are other powders out there that mix up nicely in water. I wish ON's whey tasted like and had the consistency of their casein!

Hmm, maybe i'll try just adding less water, I wouldn't mind dropping the milk due to the 12g of sugar. You'd think I would have thought of that already, lol. What brand powder do you use?

well.. mine is an exception... myofusion my friend, myofusion... once you tried that stuff, you seriously want to drop every single meal and just have myofusion the whole ****ing day... so tasty, its ridiculous..

but Ive had ON, and Dymatize in the past.. I would always just use just a lil water and maybe some splenda..

for myofusion though, by itself, better than mc donalds milk shake..

PW shake I think protein brands wont make any difference man....

and myofusion is a blend, so you can use it as a meal replacement as well...

and dude, you gotta enjoy life, unless youre going to compete myofusion all the whey..

As soon as I run low on my current ON whey, i'll definitely give it a shot. You saying it's better than a McDonalds shake is pretty compelling stuff! The only thing that bugs me is that it may not be optimal for PWO due to not being 100% whey - but I believe milk and egg proteins are relatively fast acting, so it may not be so bad.

well.. i did some research in bb.com on protein absorption post to working out and there´s several benefits on taking both whey and for example casein post workout..

this my friend will ensure that you get the immediate whey absorbed at that time and have protein absorbed throughout the next couple of hours...

this is what myofusion does.. Like more than half of it is whey.. and rest is casein, egg albumen and all the sweet stuff.. So I get my whey quickly absorbed and I have a slow release of protein for the next 2 hours..

And, how I said, you can use this before bed, meal replacement, w/e its an ALL DAY protein.

And Ive noticed NO diff from this and reg whey... same thing man.. might as well buy the tastiest one.. and myofusion´s price is really good.. its like 1 cent more per serving than ON haha...

BTW the best flavors are Chocolate and Banana......

Strawberry is my next one.. Ive heard incredible reviews from this...

Vanilla was kinda meeehh.. I mean, the best vanilla Ive had, but I guess Im not that vanilla fan..

Dont buy choc peanut butter cause people dont say its that good plus the reg chocolate with PB is amazing...

Not planning on trying choc mint, I dont like choc mint..

I use this now instead of ON casein due to the price. Not quite as thick but very tasty and been seeing nice results. Also, due to not having a kitchen in my new house yet, I've been doing a mix of it with whey as my pre-workout.

Once you try Myofusion, with other proteins there´s no fusion... wtf..

no serious, try Myofusion... Best tasting shit Ive tried.. And knowing its protein, healthy stuff, makes it 10 times tastier...

Thanks Sea, I will definitely be giving Myofusion a shot. I personally love ON's vanilla casein, so if myofusion's is anything like that or better, i'll be in heaven! Damn, I might have to go back to the days of relying on shakes for the bulk of my protein. =)

Good choice - I haven't used this particular one, but I have used Dymatize Elite Whey and it was very good, and priced VERY nicely. I think it's actually a better protein than ON considering it's 100% Ion Exchanged Whey Protein Isolate; ON is a blend of isolate and concentrate.
