    help calculating TDEE

I am 5'9" 174lbs around 15-16% bf and 26 years old. I am trying to cut to get down to around 11-12%, but I want to be spot on with my calorie deficit. My BMR is 1849. According to the threads I've researched here, I fall into the category of multiplying by 1.6 for my TDEE. This gives me a TDEE of 2958. I was recently told that this was actually too high of a number considering my daily activity load.

Here is a typical day for me: I don't play any sports, my job is in construction but I don't do much of the physical work (some, but not too straineous), no cardio (although I should start, I know). The only real physical exertion I do is weight training 5-6 days a week. I train heavy and hard for about one hour on these days.

Do you guys think I should be multiplying by 1.6 for my TDEE? If not, in your opinion, what number would you think suits me best?

    Thanks!
