For all the diet gurus here...explain this!

So here is a link to Greg Plitt's website...just watch the intro:

    http://www.gregplitt.com/

And here he is talking about his diet:

LT: I already have seen a bit of your eating routine. Care to elaborate?

GP: I eat one meal a day, usually between 1 and 5 p.m. It’s a huge meal, and I eat whatever I want. I’ve eaten two pizzas at one time. I’ve eaten five pounds of chicken in one sitting.

LT: What happened to those “Breakfast is the most important meal of the day,” or “You need to eat small meals all through the day” mantras?

GP: You know, maybe if I did that it would be better for me. But with my lifestyle, always on the go, I don’t have the time.

LT: You mean actual food, right? I’m sure you take in meal replacements.

GP: Yes, I’m sponsored by Met-Rx; I really like their products. Being a sponsored athlete, I have a plethora of them on hand. I drink their RTD-51 protein shakes. I use the Amped RTD for energy before every single workout. I also use their glutamine and NO2 pills, their fat burners and stuff.

Here's a link to the interview:

Ok...so how the hell is this possible? 1 meal a day, and he looks like that?! And he admits to eating kind of shitty for those meals!!

Is this one of those rare cases that can truly only be explained by "having great genetics"?

    I just don't get it...

X2. Sounds like a not so clever attempt at pushing Met-Rx product.

That many meal replacements, and the type of food he claims to eat...... he would be on the toilet all day.

I google searched him for awhile to try to find if he ever admits to eating anything differently than what he claims...and every single interview or Q&A blog with him just has him saying "one meal a day"

I mean there definitely is the possibility that he is lying, but that'd be pretty f*cked up considering he seems to be a huge role model and loves to help people achieve their goals through fitness...so to lie about that would be pretty low

Maybe he likes money better than helping people by teaching the right things. Pretty low if that's the case. Met-RX must be paying him a $hit load if you can't even find evidence to the contrary!

more famous people than him have lied about worse. I'd like to think it's the truth, but if he's educated enough to develop that physique he would have to know that to follow his diet and look the way he does is a genetic anomaly, therefore he still wouldn't put himself in a position where others who look up to him might try the same. I think he wants people to think they can eat like a slob and use MetRX products and look like him. cha-ching

there is a guy on the bb.com forums (username is wave_length i think) who is 5'10 155lbs but with 6% bodyfat year round. seriously his weight isn't impressive but he is as lean as guys in contests. He swears he only eats one meal per day, which is a massive binge (similar to Plitt) and he sips 100g of whey throughout the day as well. He is not on AAS but the fast he is so lean, makes it all seem kind of crazy

    I dont believe that.

But if you were to eat 100g of protein in one sitting, your body will pretty much take as long as it takes to digest it all. Its not excreted as many assume.

As for a massive amounts of carbs in one sitting, that will play havoc on blood glucose levels and cannot be burned as energy fast enough IMO. Unless your running a f*cking marathon.

Some bodybuilders eat when hungry, but thats usually a large meal, rather than 2-3 smaller ones. But I have seen no IFBB Pro advocate this, bar Phil Hernon, who now trains people and has them on this protocol.
