    Cardio and Calorie deficit

This may be a stupid question to some but:

Would you lose the same amount of weight keeping a 500 calorie deficit with no cardio vs keeping the same amount of deficit but raising the total calories per day and doing cardio.

Another way to ask the question is, is doing 30 mins of cardio a day going to allow someone to lose as much weight as someone that does cardio for 90 mins but eats the extra calories to compensate?

The person doing more cardio would have a slightly higher basal metabolic rate wouldn't they? Difference couldn't be that much though.
