G'day fellas,
I've never kept to an exact diet with x amount of meals per day and x time as I feel it's unrealistic for the average lifestyle. Avoiding beer, chocolate, soft drinks and fast food has always been hard enough. Please however tell me what you think of my diet and advise where appropriate.
181cm 85kg/190lbs
Age 21
25g protein
2 eggs
300ml skimmed milk
2 slice heavy mixed grain bread w light spread of nutella (low gi)
85g protein
Can of tinned mackerel fish 12oz/425g that i eat throughout the day
33g protein
Tuna fish 185g tin with mixed vegetables
11g protein
300ml milk skimmed
30g protein
Dinner consisting of either mince, steak, lamb, chicken always more than 30g protein with mixed vegetables. Very often include pasta or some other complex carb source.
11g protein
300ml milk skimmed
Multivitamin
Plenty of water.
Not necessarily in that order but I will always get it in, if not some extra salmon for EFA's.
I think 200g protein a day is plenty high enough. There are so many conflicting opinions about protein intake from 0.8g/lb bodyweight to over 2g/lb bodyweight. With over 2g/lb body weight, personally there is no way I can afford to eat that INSANE amount nor do I feel like giving my liver and kidneys so much punishment.
Cost is a factor for me so I eat and drink a tonne of fish and milk.
Goals are simply to gain lean mass. With some of the insane calories some people take in I don't know how they don't put on a tonne of fat?
Seeing good results so far and feeling good but always open to suggestions. Knowledge is power. Cheers.
