Lunch box's make it hard to diet properly. help!

Hopefully there is someone in my situation. I unfortunately have to do the lunch box diet due to my occupation. I am pressed for time in the am so I usually eat 2 cups of oatmeal and a protein shake for breakfast a granola bar an hour or two later and then I'm stuck with what's I'm the box the rest of the day. My shift can be any where from 8 to 16 hrs a day. In the box its usually an Apple protein bar 2 bananas 3sandwiches (2meat 1 pb&j) and another granola bar. I get off and have a shake work out shake then dinner a while later. Before bed a snack of some sort like cereal or a pb&j w milk (always skim) or somethin of that nature. I know that's a crappy diet and i cheat lots with crap like gas station food and other junk. I blame that on my erratic schedule and the fact I'm always hungry. I am a hard gainer so the cheating doesn't hurt bf%. It's like no matter how much i eat at one time give me am hour and boom my stomach is growling. How can I eat right when for most of the day I am limited on storage space mostly for items that must be kept cold and things that require more than one hand to eat. I need a grab and go type of meal plan.

Yeah I guess that is the obvious solution. Guess I better get a bigger cooler...... would any of you mind giving me an example of a typical meal while on the clock. My biggest problem is that I don't have access to a microwave or really even time to mix things. I drive a truck, its local but I am always on the move.

I eat at school. I have a small box with an ice pack in it. I pack my meat in bags to consolidate space. 1 chicken breast, 2 tilapia filets, and a steak folded neatly in ziplock. Then I have a small tupperware with veggies, and another with either a bunch of lentils or sweet potatoes mashed up. I also have some plastic silverware and paper plates in my laptop bag. Between classes, I get a paper plate and put a bag of pro, some veggies, and a 1/3 of my carbs on the plate and scarf.

I cook all my food for 5 days at a time.

I use 5 tupaware tubs with a devider in the middle

I put all the food that i need to eat while at work in one of those 5 tubs, carbs in one side, proteins in the other

Cook stuff that you can eat whipe u drive, chicken breasts cut into strips, potato wedges ( sweet or white ), put your tub on the pasanger seat and eat with ur fingers.

In the summer, I was on a tractor, and would throw my chicken in a ziplock, and then in foil. The zip keeps the dirt out, Then throw them on the turbo manifold and keep driving for about 20 mins. And then eat my 200 degree chicken.

I use a cooler with a dry area that I throw my "drank" protein shaker in after I use it. Seems to offer more space in the cool part, I then throw my waters in there from the dry area, kinda rotate them out. Few ice packs keeps everything cool.

something like this, not mine exactly tho.

I think I can post links...

I don't know what size your truck is, but maybe you could squeeze a 12volt microwave in there. I also bring a ton of food to work, but I don't know how I'd do it without a microwave. Cold fish sucks.

Cold steak is the worst, and I find it becomes very tough when it cools down.

I heard you can get briefcases with chilled compartments as well, which I though could be handy for storing sandwiches and always having something with you, no matter where you go.

Yeah I guess any way you cut it lunch on the road is gonna suck for the most part. I like the idea of pre cooking for about 5 days in a row. It will at least help out variety, which is the biggest problem I have with staying dedicated. I can only stand so many turkey sandwiches before I can't take it anymore and find myself ordering a whopper lol
