    Help on CKD!!!

    Hey guys I'm on CKD at the moment. My problem is carbs is a big no no but I need something to put with my chicken so that it's not so dry and tasteless!

    Does anybody have any suggestions or tips?

    This is so easy it's sickening. Let's see... I used to 'bread' my chicken in parmesan cheese then fry it. I'd top it with some bacon, cheddar and a bit of ranch dressing.

    A quick alternative is simply some hot sauce. Dude, there are a million things you can do with chicken on a keto diet.

    Taco Bell seasoning and cheddar cheese. Makes a good sauce that drowns the taste of anything. You can also use it as a marinade or a rub base. It can be found in the supermarket. Also, try Low Carb Ketchup.

    I agree it tastes good, but it has some vile shit in there... just read the ingredients. Oh, and note the amount of sodium in that little packet!

    ad nuts, avocado, cheese, bacon, the list is endless! Only takes a bit of imagination bro - my breakfast consists of canadian bacon and eggs fried in butter with French's honey dijon mustard....best meal of the day!

    Fry off some onion in olive oil, add garlic, add bacon cook for a bit and then a splash of cream. Something a little less dry.....

    Onions are loaded with sugar... probably not the best advice.

    Is a little onion okay because in the am i have a omega 3 egg omlette with mozzarella cheese pinch of spinach two sliced mushroom slices I sliver of green pepper san a sliver of onion

    A sliver is ok, but just don't go crazy. If you find you're having a problem achieving or maintaing ketosis, it's one of the first things i'd drop.

    i dont add it in my macros because it is barley but right now im having 30g carb. im not sure if im hitting ketosis or not. how can i tell

    Theres nothing wrong with a small amount of onion. A quarter of an onion is not going to kick someone out of ketosis.

    If you cant get into ketosis I'd start from the beginning, not the piece of onion you just ate.

    Probably not, but I think it's safe to assume the OP is getting carbs from other sources throughout the day (protein shakes, veggies, trace amounts in other foods, etc) in which case a small amount of onion very well could kick him out.

    My point was not to stop eating onions, just to be aware of the sugar/carb content and make sure it fits into your daily carb allotment.

    Be careful about what gum you choose! Alot of 'sugarless' gums contain Sorbitol - look it up, basically it's sugar!!!

    Again, if you have a piece here or there it shouldn't hurt, but just a few grams of carbs from gum compounded with carbs you're getting inadvertantly from other sources could hurt you - just like the scenario with the onion.

    Your piss smells too and I get diarrhea the day I get into Ketosis. Also feel so run down then all of a sudden energetic the next day.
