Questions for bulking people without a weak pallet. :)

So I have read various forums that say when your bulking that you shouldn't use protein shakes for a majority of your meals. I am currently bulking and im fairly busy. So instead of protein shakes I will mix 2 cans of tuna in my magic bullet with some v8 and drink it. I do that same with 2 cups of oats. Because I don't have a ton of time or a huge appetite. So is that ok to do or do you have to chew up the food to get all the benfits out of it. I cant see the difference. I don't drink alot of protein shakes but I do the tuna shake a couple times a day then use protein post workout. With food for my other main meals. Any input would be great.
    Thanks for the help.

If you are one of the people that can actually stomach, and keep down tuna-shakes then keep at it!

The reason people suggest not simply shakes is because the bioavailability of the protein in shakes is far less then that of real food.

^^^ THIS. There is nothing at all wrong with sucking down shakes made from real food. All it does is lower the thermogenisis process a bit since the 1st stage of digestion will be advanced beyond anything your teeth can do.

Liquid Calories are gold when your trying to bulk. Blend up any food you can and chug it. Ive blended tuna, oats, spinach, and crystal light together. Its not horrible. lol

And also, in terms of protein shakes... as long as your not over doing them, then a few a day isnt going to kill you. If you eat 6-8 meals and 1-3 of them are shakes. No biggie. But if you can blend some real food instead of a protein shake... do that.

OR if you eat 6-8 meals and 1-3 shakes on top of that - even better!

Try adding some lemon to your tuna works fine for me.
