I would bet that both products are highly processed
I think if u want things like that the only way to do it is find a recipie yourself and make a good clean version of it
Oats
Basmati rice
Brown rice
Whole meal past (good quality, when gaining)
Lentils
These are all good carb sources

Here's a recipe for pancakes that tastes pretty darn good.
1/2 cup oats (oat bran texture is best)
1/2 cup egg whites
1 scoop protein
cinnamon and spices
just mix them together and cook them in a skillet. Delicious

always best to stick with whole foods mate, the way gawd intended!
another way of saying it....
if you are considering a food and can't identify by looking at it what it's made from, probably a good idea not to eat it

I'm really confused here. Thx for all the other carbs sources ill definitely be adding them to my diet. And thanks for the thread. Ill check it out as well.
what I don't understand is how you say its processed? What does that mean? Not sure if you are aware of trader Joe's but its a grocery store that sell EVERYTHING ALL NATURAL and organic. I just want to understand how the whole grain pancake carbs are different from oats..
I'm having a hard time completely grasping the science of This.

Times Roman, thank u sir. That makes sense to me. This diet thing Is VERY VERY strict even though Its a bulking diet. I'm tied down to eat very limited things. I guess that's how it is when you gotta eat perfect.
I like what you said about a" whole foods " . I just look at these other foods where I shop at a health store where everything is suppose to be good for me but you all say Its not.

Think of processing as anthing that modifies a food from it's natural state. you may have whole wheat flour, but it's been processed (ground up), and your body absorbs and metabolizes it much differently than if you just ate the grain in it's natural form. Grain in it's natural form takes alot longer to metabolize and doesn't give the big spike in blood sugar. Of course, these are goals, and we all cheat. But it is important to understand to get your foundation of knowledge. It's one thing to eat a meal that is less than ideal because you are splurging, and quite another due to ignorance.

This recipe is good!! I do it when I have time on the weekends. BSN Syntha-6 banana is the awesome with it. Or add some mashed sweet potatoes for more carb load before morning workouts.

This is a discussion I have with my wife all the time as she buys "healthy food" for the kids from Trader Joes all the time. Just because they say it is "organic" doesn't mean that it isn't highly refined or processed. "Organic" foods can be loaded with sugar (from natural sugar cane) or fats (mostly animal fats and from soybean oil). But that doesn't make it any better for you as far as calorie content and GI goes.
As far as your "whole grain" pancakes go, I'm sure they're made of 100% whole grain flour which really is an oxy moron because flour whether whole grain or white is an extremely processed version of wheat. Flour in any form is processed and modified from wheat or sometimes even other grains.
If you're really that concerned about it, unless you can hunt it, gather it, or grow it, don't eat it.

Guys,
Thank you for taking your time out to explain this stuff to me. I fully understand now. I will just stick with the good stuff for breakfast. I bought some good plain oats today. Ill just spice em up w some cinnamon. And I will definitely look back at the recipe you gave me for the pancakes!!! I appreciate all the help. I know I asked alot of questions. I Just really am in the phase of wanting to educate myself so I can FINALY right up my diet without being torn apart from you guys haha!
Much appreciated

another one ;)
hey guys one more thing,
i was talking to my gf about the pancakes being processed and all that and we think its better to def stick to the whole food idea , eating naturally, like oats eggs white and such.
You said somthing about the white flour being processed into whole grain??? What about whole grain bread? Im guessing since its not grown or hunted its prob not the best choise either???
Like if i want a couple pieces of ezekiel bread for toast with some sugar free jam, would that be another bad choise im guessing?
IS that flour processed and bad too??
thx

Ezikiel bread is good
Just dont rely 100% on it
Similar to the pancake recipie above you could also try;
1 cup oats
1 cup egg whites
2 whole eggs
Berrys
Blend oats in blender, add eggs, froth them up, fry in a pan, put lemon juce on them at the end

bread should be an exception, not a main staple. For your main staples, see baseline 9 above for starters.
