Is there really much of a difference between the regular cheapo oats and the steel cut ones? The price seems to jump dramatically.

I used to go for the big bags of oats, grind them in a coffee grinder then choke them down in my protein shake. It gave me exactly what I needed but it got f**king old!
Now I buy the quaker oat Weight control, 1g of sugar, added whey protein isolate and the perfect amount of carbs per packet (for me) with a flavor I don't hate putting in my shake. I know my new approach is NOT economical AT ALL but its something to think about to break up the normal routine if it gets boring.
