Pork has less water, and less protein than most other protein sources. It also has more fat, 40% sometimes. Fat content is sometimes as high as protein content.

Ham is between bacon and pork on the digestibility scale. Basically, if you are looking for an unhealthy fat source, go with it!

Agreed with the above, ham/pork isn't considered a 'lean protein source'.

It seems like so much of the worlds foods beside (the hunted, gathered, picked) is totally eliminated in the body builders world. I'm quite sure nobody is perfect and all that's mentioned Herr Is to gain nothing but lean muscle, which is what we want I guess....

    ^^I eat pork daily.

I go through 10 lbs of it EVERY week.

Ham... I'm a fan of as well. Most of the fat is in the skin...and that can be trimmed off, the same as most any other meat.

Well fvck me running! I love boneless pork chops but have avoided them due to the higher fat content then boneless chicken breast for instance. I suppose as a substitute for beef they're on par (I think beefs protein is superior though) in terms of fat, but not along the lines of chicken, turkey breast, white fish, etc.

When I look like Nark, i'm sure I won't care about pork! For now, I gotta stick with the leanest of the lean! =)
