    quick question on sauces for food

    two of my main staple meals are brown rice with chicken and brown rice with tuna. Now I usually use A1 or Soy, however even light soy has 400+mg sodium per tbsp and A1 is right around 280 for 2 tbsp, bbq sauces are full of sugar. So what can I add to make my foods tase better.

    Yes, I already do use some franks and srirachi, but I dont always want to poop fire.

    herbs and spices

    Rosemary, thyme, oregano etc....

    Garlic is good

    Smoked paprica, cumin seeds, cayene pepper

    Try this, you wont be disapointed

    2 Tbsp paprica
    2 Tbsp cayenne pepper
    1 Tbsp black pepper corns, ground
    2 cloves of garlic
    3 Tbsp onion flakes
    2 Tbsp dried oregano
    salt

    Put all into a blender or food processor, grind it up, done!

    Rub it on meat or fish whatever.

    If u want it to last a long time bake it in the oven on a low temp for 10 mins to dry out the garlic

    This is defo worth trying. Really good

    Base's advice is on point. Nice oil/acid-based marinades and dry rubs are the way to go. Then, the food is already tasty and just a splash of hot sauce and some dijon mustard is all you need. Also, look into the reduced sodium soy - it's not as bad. Use like 1/4 tsp of it with 1/4 tsp hoisin and 1/2 tsp PB and you've got a nice little peanut sauce to spread on your chicken if you're feeling in the mood for chinese/asian.

    I love A1 Steak Sauce but can't get it here in Europe.. finally found a recipe for it:

    Ingredients

    * 1/2 Cup Raisins
    * 1/4 Cup Soy Sauce
    * 1/4 Cup White Vinegar
    * 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard
    * 1 Tbsp Bottled Grated Orange Peel

    * 2 Tbsp Heinz Chili Sauce

    How to make it

    place in sauce pan, boil for two minutes and then throw in blender, blend till smooth, store in fridge, good for 90 days
