Fish oil question
Quick question,
I eat 4 servings a day of tilapia (sp?), and am also taking my fish oil supp.
The question is whether the supp is necessary...
thanks in advance for the response.

I am sure tilapia has more omega-6 than omega-3 oil...4-oz. fillet of fatty fish (herring, lake trout, mackerel, salmon, sardines and tuna) contains about 225 mg of omega-3 fatty acids. Most fish oil supp contains quadruple of that, I am sure it all depends what you bought. Mine is 1300mg per pill, I take 2 per day.

Yes depends on the EPA dha ratio..

Good post. The Tilapia we eat in this country (US at least) are corn-fed and it's reported that there is a negligible omega-3 content - it's all omega-6 apparently. Orange roughie and wild caught fish are much better substitutes though less readily available and more expensive. Supplement with fish oil.

Wild caught tilapia is very very hard to come by in the states. I would definitely still take the fish oil.

Stick with supping the fish oil, or take it a step further and swap 1 or 2 of those meals for salmon or another oily fish.
