    Contest Dieting..# of meals

Hi, I have 2 friends who are both really cut and muscular. Ready to get on stage, they are helping me because I want to eventually get on stage. One is telling me to reduce my # of meals to 3 per day and right before the contest ill end up eating just one meal (all the meals low on carb & fat, high protein). The other is telling me that I should keep on eating 6 small meals but make them even smaller and w/ also low fat, low carb, high on protein.

What do you do to cut before a contest?

Follow 5-7 small meals a day... Things to work out..
    1. Your current stats (hight,weigt,bf%)
    2. How many weeks before your comp
    3. Plan a diet with macros (fit into 5-7 meals)

once you know where you are at, and how long you have left, I like to plan a diet usualy breaking them up in phases...
    Eg week 1 -4 phase 1
Week 2 - 6 phase 2 ect (carbs usualy decreasing ,carb cycling , cardio increasing)

so to answer your original question, eat every 2-3 hours to fit in your total macros for the day, wich should be 5-7 meals a day.

@ McFly: thanks man, so you pretty much also continue taking small meals even before contest to keep the metabolism burning.

    I agree with McFly,

also some like to go on the theory of....
find out what macros you need...
then only eat when you're hungry...
but fit in however many macros you need for that meal so that your total macros for the day add up.

so at the end of the day you may of only eaten 3-5 times but you got all your macros in.
    thats what matters.
takes some getting used to. but works.
