    why oats?

so i have been told to eat oats for breakfast as wheaties are no good. i am from Australia and thought that wheaties were the same as weet-bix. weet-bix are a very common breakfast cereal over here in Australia and they are basically wholegrain wheat biscuits.

here is a comparison between wholegrain oats and weet-bix:
    wholegrain oats:

    weet-bix:

according to the nutritional info of both, weet-bix contain less calories and fat, more protein, more carbs and more fiber.. so why oats?

i used 2 use weetabix (the cheepo asda brand though...) basicly the same thing as oats imo. and ye u can get oatibix but tbh if u buy ground oats or grind them urself and just mix with milk its so handy! i buy 5kg ground oats at a time 4 €12, just add 100g 2 milk and job done!

Steel cut oats and wheetabix are not the same thing, no where near

Oats are about 42-50 on the GI scale and wheatabix are about 74

another bonus with oats is that 100gr will yield 11g protein, a nice boost in a carb based food.
    oats are an allround superfood

The Weet-Bix is lying. It claims to be 'the breakfast of champions'. We all know what the REAL breakfast of champions is...........
