question about brown rice
Every site I go to to get macros on brown rice measures it after it's cooked. The average carbs I found in brown rice between sites is around 40g per cup (cooked). I'm trying to reach around 75g of carbs, so how many grams of UNCOOKED rice would I need to reach this based on the macros provided?
By the way, the bag of brown rice that i bought today says on the label 78g carbs per 100 grams. Does this sound right? Is this uncooked? I made 100 grams today for lunch, and it really didn't seem like much food, especially for a bulking diet.............
Any thoughts? I would like to get all of my meal plan together with correct macros so I can have it critiqued by you guys. Thanks!

I eat 50g of uncooked brown rice per serving, it just feels right, next time i will weigh it afterwards too, but lets say you cook 1 cup of rice but use 2 cups of water to cook it and 1 cup = 100g does that mean that after cooking it will be 300 g , IDK either lol

Thanks, POPS! Guess that answers Both my questions, then! It just seems like a lot of carbs for that small of a serving, but I guess our macros are about the same then; if I eat 100 grams of Uncooked rice, it will be close to 78 g of carbs.
Thanks again to Both of you guys!

and ye 78g per 100g sounds good 2 me. problem with rice is 100g uncooked expands to twice its size cooked, i take 150g uncooked weight. hard 2 stomach first few weeks of dieting!

The macros will be the same before and after cooking. I mean we're talking about water right?
Don't see how anything would change. Unless you're talking about something else.

Yea, I understand that the macros for the rice would not change either way. But the quantities of those macros would if you were to weigh it cooked verses uncooked. If you weigh it cooked, and the nutrition data you have for the rice is measured uncooked, then you wouldn't be consuming near the macros you think you are.
