6 smaller ones.. One large one puts your budy in a feast or famen state and spikes your blood sugar levels

Yup. More efficient to eat many smaller meals.

I agree with above. Not to mention 5000 calories of food in one sitting everyday wouldnt exactly be an easy task

True. 5000 calories of clean food at least. I could totally down a couple cartons of melted ice cream, haha.

I've tried 6-7 smaller meals a day and 3 larger meals a day and honestly didn't notice a difference.
Try it and see what works for you.
Right now I'm dieting, so the smaller more frequent meals seem to work better for that. But when I'm in a gaining phase, I actually prefer the 3 or so large meals a day, and it also cuts down a little on the food neurosis

There are more and more studies nowadays claiming there there isn't much of a difference. However, until that's proven beyond a shadow of a doubt, I will always preach multiple smaller meals every 2.5 - 3 hours. It just makes sense.

I think practicality and diet adherence is the main issue. If you're a small woman who only gets to eat 1200-1400Cals per day to lose weight then 6 meals can be frustrating because you will never feel full. On the other hand if you're a larger male (with some chemical assistance) who requires 5000Cals to gain, it'd be tough to eat that much in few meals.
All of this being said, personally I tend to do better if I eat breakfast a little bit later ~10:00 or so. After that I tend to eat about every 3 hours. I've tried lots of different meal setups and I tend to do the best this way.

Even if there's no difference in how your metabolic rate is affected and your body's ability to absorb nutrients as efficiently in much larger quantities (I too want hardcore proof before I subscribe to either) - there's still the difference of having a steady source of amino acids throughout the day. Yes, it takes longer to digest more food but I don't that that your AM breakfast consisting of 20 egg whites will still be giving you what you need 5 hours later. Just shooting from the hip, I have no scientific proof here. Still, it's a logical conclusion.
