Rice would be my last choice... oats, sweet potato, quinoa, etc. are all much better choices IMO.

pasta is fine fresh, i cook my food the night b4 and pasta is a pain in the ass the day after (hard and stuck together). i just use white rice anyway, i know ppl that use oats nearly every meal of the day.

if eaten with a protein source such as chicken then there is little difference between the GI index of white or brown rice..

re
The biggest advantage of brown rice is that it has not been milled or processed and buffed up to that snowy white shine.
Dietitians have confirmed that brown rice is exceptionally high in fiber. It is also loaded with vitamins and minerals. Because brown rice is not milled, it manages to hang on to all of its bran and germ content.
