    Complex carbs question

    As many of you know, I go to school and I use oatmeal for my breakfast,snack and post workout for complex carbs. Is 100% multi grain bread or 100% whole wheat better for a complex carb at lunch and dinner (dont have any other choices really) besides fattys like fries, or mashed potatos. Trying to gain that lean muscle. Sometimes post workout I do a banana with my shake instead of oats also...

    Are you asking of bread is better then oats, or better then fries and mashed potatoes?

    Bread is still processed to some extent, so oats will always be a better choice. I don't think it's any revelation that bread would be a better choice then the fatty/fried stuff.

    Stick with the oats over the banana PWO - fruit isn't a great carb choice as it does very little to restore muscle glycogen.
