pasturized egg whites
Since I have IBS and lactose intolerant I have been using egg protein shakes post workout. I got to thinking maybe just drinking a 16 oz container of egg whites post work out might be better ? They have 50 grams of protein and 250 cals . Has any one tried this and if so how was the results ?

I love egg whites, and eat them in every shake .

Since they're pasturized they're ok to eat without having to worry about getting sick correct ?

yeah, but the worst part is getting the little stringy white things that attach the white to the yolk

I believe that would be the umbilical cord. Mmmmm

I know that raw egg whites bind to biotin (vitamin b7) making it impossible to absorb in your small intestine, which is an essential b vitomin that plays a large role in glucogenisis, and keeping stable blood sugar levels. Since our body makes most of the biotin we need from the bacteria in our small intestines, i could see that consuming large quantities of raw egg whites or even pasturized egg whites over a long period of time could lead to a deficiency. Bill Phillips wrote about this breifley in his book "Body for life" I'm sure there are other resources of information out there. Just food for thought
