How much oats for sweet pot?

    Hi guys,

I'm fed up with sweet potato now so I'm gonna make oats cakes so my question is...

How many gramms of oats is the equivalent to 210gramms of boiled skin on sweet potato? I am on a bulk if that helps... Thanks!

Thanks... I use a different site but my problem is, to get the carbs the same I increase calories and fat? So what am I best in doing? Lowering carbs or increasing fats?

just match the total calories if you are switching from potatoes to oats

Interesting....do you think he needs to change up his carb/fat macros in other meals in order to compensate the loss/gain in his new meal with oats? Obviously, the oats are going to be significantly higher in fat than s. potato. If oats are now his main, or possibly ONLY, source of carbs for the day, his fat macros are going to be much higher than they used to be with the s. potato. IMO, if it's only a meal or two, it may not be such a big deal. But without seeing his total diet, I find it hard to agree with you. What's your take? BTW-I'm not saying your advice is wrong; would actually like to see others' views on this.

He stated match calories not carbs so it should be a push. Also, I believe we are talking about 40 grams of carbs on the sweet potatoe so even if he did match carbs he is going to get about 3.5 grams of fat from oats as opposed to 1-2 grams of fat from the sweet potatoe. So we are talking maybe 10-15 calorie difference? Not something I would worry about, especially since he stated he was on a bulk.
