Being as everyone is so obsessed with your waist....i personally don't give a shiat....what I do think is this....

Being as you want to gain weight with your only 6 months out from show...I assume your diet will probably need a 20 week or 18 week cut. For the amount of gain you'll get in two months...to have to take off that extra bit in cutting...will be really hard on you.....believe me...been there!!!

It may not seem a lot now; but when it comes to crunch time and if things go wrong with dieting...training and the weight isn't coming off as easily as expected; you'll kick yourself for gaining that so miniscule amount that probably would make no difference on stage this time around.

IMO....stay where you are if your dieting in a few months anyways....I'm not saying don't try to gain good ...while you can. You still have a few months...just be easy. You'll thank yourself in the end when your really cutting.

When your done....take a look at your physique...than really bulk up off season to the areas you need to focus on.

I'd vote for eating clean, maintenance cals for now with the deficit coming from cardio, I don't know what your water intake is, but I'd kick that up too.

Thanks for the info. I drink alot of water (everyone says that) but I want to just "wow" the hell out of everyone at this natural show at the end of October. I do 3 cardio sessions a week 35 minutes at a walking pace of 3.5 and a 6 incline. Keeping my heartrate between 125-138.....I dont want the cardio to stunt any potential muscle growth

Sorry, late to this party. As Kawi already mentioned, get potential for muscle growth completely out of your head for now. 6 months is not enough time especially with all the dieting you have left to do. For every week of bulking you do now you will need to add 2 weeks of cutting and you dont have time to make that happen. To get into contest shape, especially as a natural competitor you are going to lose muscle. You are well above 9% BF, and being this is your first show I would start rolling into my cutting diet immediately. October will be here before you know it. After looking at your pics, if you are currently at 237lbs you should plan on being on stage somewhere in the 190's would be my guess.

Thanks for the info. I would like to hit the stage at at least 198.6lbs to compete in the heavy weight. I know all you folks have an immense amount of knowledge. So my question is how many calories should I take in and how much carbs, protein and also what about cardio sessions frequency?

First of all, the cut off for lightheavy is 198 1/4, if you are in that range it's better to be under and at the top of the class as opposed to 200lbs standing against 225lbs heavies. My recommendation would not worry about what weight you will end up at but go for the best conditioning you can be and let the weight fall where it may. I promise it will be much lighter than you think. If 4k calories a day and 3 cardio sessions a week is what is maintaining your current level of conditioning you need to slowly start altering one of both aspects of that to create a calorie deficit, either more cardio, less calories or a combination of both. I would start doing weekly body comps so you can monitor the effectiveness of what you are doing.

obviously we will all agree with this, also post pics every two weeks for us to help with what the body comps might miss, and do you have a posing coach?

I will post recent pics tonight and post every other Friday for you everyone. No I don't have a posing coach. I live in a town that is greatly unrepresented in bodybuilding. To watch my first contest last week, I had to drive three hours. I have seen a couple seminars that I'm interested attending.

Buddha, you have my apology - big mofo! I hope you can at least understand the initial skepticism as we always have new members joining making outrageous claims. If you had been more accurate about your bodyfat, I probably wouldn't have reacted as such. But either way, thanks for sticking with us.

To echo what the others have said - I absolutely agree you should begin cutting the bodyfat immediately. You don't need any more size right now IMO. Get that bodyfat down into single digits - that would be my primary focus if I were in your condition. Good luck bro, keep us posted!

What would be the best way to do that? Do I go back on the hydroxycut? Do I cut out creatine and beta-alanine and the animal stak? I know I will go back to 4 sessions of cardio per week............any other ideas

creatine is the only thing I'd keep for now, of course you can begin the ECA stack if you haven't already.
