Easter Lunch Question!! (Help)
Well I am currently away at college, and can't wait to go home in 2 weeks. As a result of being so far away from home, I don't have the benefit of being home with my family for Easter. My baseball coach is having an Easter lunch for us and he said he's cooking barbeque chicken. I am currently on day 2 of my keto diet, and am still in the process of entering keto. This lunch is on Easter, Sunday, and I do not want to break the diet since it is recommended to first be on it for 2 weeks before having the carb up day. What should I eat to insure I do not go out of it?

Dude this simple
Your 2 days into a keto diet and your already having to think of ways to avoid breaking the keto diet....
You have two options...
Dont eat carbs
Eat carbs and do a normal diet that does not include ketosis

It has nothing to do with not being able to do a keto diet. I did it for 2 months already. But came out of it and started a better keto diet. I can perfectly do this diet with no problems whatsoever. The fact of the matter is, my coach invited us who are still here to join him for Easter dinner, I can't just say I can't go. It was an invite and it's not like we have anything else to do. Everyone living in Texas has gone home, there's only 4 of us left. I was asking what were good options to go with since I will have to make an appearance. It's out of respect that I show up. This has nothing to do with not being able to do a keto diet.

Well I'm assuming its going to be a usual dinner. Chicken, vegetables, rice or potato's. I think it would be best if I had the chicken and just peeled off the skin with bbq sauce and have the vegetables. Not the potatoes or rice.

could you call him up and ask? and explain that you are on a program where you are committed to logging in what you eat and you need to know what is being served so you can figure out your game plan since you can't assume what he is making....

Since you already have 2 months of experience with keto, I would go ahead and do a carb refeed on Sunday. What time is the lunch? If it's earlier in the day, use the BBQ sauce with the chicken as a high gi carb source to kick you out (obviously, not the best carb source, but it shouldn't have any negative effects since you'll probably be in ketosis by then anyway). I recommend an intense workout on Saturday, along with cardio, to make sure your glycogen stores are completely (or close to) empty. You can also further your politeness by asking for some of that rice and potatoes to take home with you and eat them later in the day to taper to a lower gi carb.
