past best before date by one day- okay to eat?

i have a beef scotch fillet steak that is past its best before date only by one day, does any one know if it would still be okay to eat? it looks fine..

Yes should be fine if it is just 'best before'. If it says 'use by' then that is different. Basically best before just means that the product is at its best quality before x date. Use by means that a product may not be fit to consume after x date. A day or 2 over best before is fine as long as still in sealed pack etc.

smell it, if it smells bad wash it off and smell it again. sometimes the juice smells bad but the steak is fine. usually steak lasts about a week in the fridge if wrapped well.
