    Flaxseed vs Olive Oil

I just bought some flaxseed oil and was noticing that nutritionally speaking they looked similar. What, if any are the advantages of flaxseed over olive oil?

There are nutritional similarities between the two as well as differences. Flaxseed oil is a Omega-3 (Linolenic Acid) & Omega-6 (Linoleic Acid) source; whereas, Olive oil is a Omega-9 (Oleic Acid) source. In sum, one needs all 3 sources for general well being and longevity.

Flaxseed oil has the highest linolenic content of any food. One tablespoon per day of flaxseed oil should provide the recommended daily adult portion of linolenic acid.
