hi guys
just wondering if lean corned silverside is a good alternative to ground beef? im only assuming it has the same slow digesting properties as ground beef/steak so it would be good for a late night meal?
thanks

I had no idea what corned silverside was so I had to google it. Turns out it's the exact same thing as corned beef, corned brisket, etc.
It's still beef like ground/steak, however the brisket is a fattier cut and wouldn't be ideal for a BB'ers diet IMO. Also, the corning process is just that - a process, meaning the food isn't in it's natural state. Corned beef is generally loaded with nitrates/nitrites... these are nasty and have no place in a healthy diet.
Eat it as a cheat meal, not daily.
Ah I see. I was only drawn to it because of its low fat content - around 1.2g of fat per 100g. Looking at the nutrition info I can now see it has over 1000mg sodium per 100g which is ridiculously high.
I'd stay away from coated meat balls where the contents have you guessing.
