    Best pre cardio meal in morning??

    Age: 27
    Ht: 5"11
    Wt 177 pounds

    I am trying to do my cardio (jogging 4-5km) on off weight training days preferably in the morning after I wake up. I want to lose body fat and keep my muscle gains. What is the best pre run meal? Currently I am taking 25g whey protein blend 10-15 mins before my run. Should I eat carbs? I have heard mixed things...

    It depends on how intense the cardio is. If you're going with lower/medium intensity steady state type cardio, i'd actually do it fasted, or just take some BCAA's instead of the whey shake. If you're doing higher intensity type cardio, HIIT, etc, you may want some carbs, however I find HIIT more beneficial PWO.

    I'd go with fasted steady state.

    Yeah bro. I agree, with Gbrice. I would stay on empty unless intense or duration is longer then 45 min. Remember to watch heart rate, keep it at whatever your low intensity lvl is. Thats the most important factor.
