    Muscle Mass Vegan

I'm wondering if there is anyone who has personally gained (a lot of) muscle while on a vegan or vegetarian diet?

Also, how would your vegan/vegetarian diet change to accommodate a cycle?

The actual foods of your diet wouldn't necessarily change on cycle just the total calorie and macro count for the day. A vegan diet sounds very expensive in the long term and I would imagine a lot of protein powder would be required.

How vegetarian are you ? Sorry if this seems like a strange question but some vegetarians just don't eat red meat, some don't eat meat all together (including / excluding fish ) and some avoid certain dairy products.

If he is 100% vegan then he is pretty well screwed. You could throw a shit ton of Whey protein at the problem but thats about it compared to what most people eat as abundant protein sources!

I'm not actually vegan at all; I'm an animal lover... they taste great. But my wife has arrived at the conclusion that vegan is best; but I really don't have enough info to say one way or the other. Just wondering from a wight-lifting / muscle mass perspective... if it would correlate at all. It may be best to stick with the meat.

Do you know that Whey is a by-product of cheese. So it's a no no for a vegan.

    OP,

Firstly for a vegan or vege BB I would get a good multi and some BCAA as daily supps.

Your prime source of Protein for a vegan diet as a BB would be legumes....chickpeas, lentils...

You have soy protien powders, if not full vegan you could look at egg or egg white powders.

If you do the lacto-ovo vege, you can get all you need from raw milk, cottage cheese ...

You will need a lots of fats, nuts are one of the best with my personal preference been walnuts, they are loaded with Omega 3.

If you are vegan you are screwed. You would have to eat correct combinations of food to get protein sources from them. And vegan is not only not "best" but rather unhealthy. You need things like B vitamin shots. Just don't do it and tell your wife to stop reading whatever girly magazine she's reading.
