    Why fat for bulking?

I just Read through the unofficial bulk thread and cutting thread and was just wondering why change your fat intake? I can understand your body requires certain amounts of essential fats but why not keep this to a minimum, regardless of whether you are bulking or cutting as to always keep fat build up to a minimum?

In particular, the example diet has lean beef, swiss cheese and full fat mayo. Are these necessary and what role does this added fat play in bulking?

Just a way of increasing your caloric intake, your body will actually convert excess carbs to bodyfat easier than it will excess dietary fat.

Like the above statement said about increasing cal and this becomes a useful tool expecially for hard gainers. It also helps in hormone regulation and cellular function
