Low Carb Diet, Weight loss stopped

    Here is my problem.

Was dropping weight pretty well then to get more aggressive I posted up my current diet and was told I should change from 45/40/15 to something like 45/35/20.

When I did that I seemed to feel much weaker, I didn't have the drive or strength to do my cardio sessions and my workouts suffered as well as my weight loss just STOPPED.

I know some people say they perform better at a lesser carb intake then others but do you think I am one of those cases were I just need those carbs?

Go back to your old macro split then and if you stop losing weight on your old macro split consider upping the cals slightly but also increasing cardio

Switching from 40%/15% carbs/fats to a 35%/20% isnt a big enough change to make any difference whatsoever. On a 2800 calorie diet this is the equivalent of dropping your daily carbs from 280 to 235 while adding in 16 grams of fat. Any difference you are feeling is almost guaranteed to be strictly a placebo effect. Think about it, thats 6 grams of carbs less per meal with added fat.

I like the first split better anyway. I suppose it could make a difference, but as Fire said it's probably not likely you felt that solely from the diet. Just switch back.

    Twist/Fire,

I was using those #'s as guidelines but roughly my macros were 250/150/30 when I switched. Before the switch I was at like 230-240/180-190/40-45. I last night switched back to 240/240/50(?) and I was so tired. I think the big jump in carbs caught by body off guard so I am going to go back to the 230-240/180-190/40-45 and see where that gets me.

To give you my stats it 5'10" 195, LBM of 155. I have been aiming my consumption at about 2280-2350 on workout & cardio days and about 2100 on cardio only days, on off days I shoot for 1825. I got my bmr by using the formula of 155 x 15=1825.

Before my change of diet I was down to 180 and so close to my goal of 170.

Any more advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Change your diet back. If that isn't the problem then lower cals. A lot of the time people forget to raise/lower cals accordingly.

If you are losing weight and then all of a sudden it stops, lower cals.
